Spur Hi-Tec Adventure Sprint #1 Date Added: 19.01.2009
The first race in the 2009 Spur Hi-Tec Adventure Series got off to a flying start yesterday, with over 300 competitors flocking to Oaklane Cottages, Grabouw yesterday to take part in the first of the 3 races in the series.
With a long and short course on offer, there was a distance to suit everyone. Even the kids were entertained with a “nature hike and adventure trail”.
Multiple dam crossings on both the cycle and running leg ensured that competitors didn’t overheat, and kept everyone cool in the sweltering sun.
Dr B and Mr C took top honours in a blistering time of 1hr30 for the long course, followed closely by the mixed pair Giant Salomon in a time of 1hr 31. 3rd place was the mixed pair of Team Jeep in a time of 1hr 34.
The next race in the series takes place on the 15th February at Oak Valley estate in Grabouw. Entries for the race are open and you can enter online at www.quantumadventures.co.za
