Again Uge has a contact with Upstairs, middle of winter and we have stunning weather yet again.

We started with a race briefing from Trevor Ball, informing us on the safety on the River and the Do's and Don’ts, then we were off with an 8 o'clock start straight for the river bank and a quick swim across the water.  OOOOOH what a “hello” start your heart pumping and straight into a short trail run the a quick lug of the boats to the river then to the heart throbbing and adrenalin junkie Fix.  I'm in Front with the my Captain at the back and off we went for a joy ride of note.  Coming off Judgment Day all in tack and screaming with utter delight, we paddled to the portage site and completed our trail run to the transition. 

Left our icy shirts behind and headed off onto our trail run, through the dorp of Kleinmond around the harbour. A quick visit to a Cross then we headed up towards the mountain, we had company along the way from team UCT.  Going over the mountains took our breaths away with the amazing views and vistas.  Met a few teams along the way and just had an absolute ball of note with a few falls, those rocks just seem to jump out at you.  Collecting our last CP at the junction rounded off a great Trail Run and we head in to the finish, having had an absolute blast of a Time.

We just missed the first men's team by one or two minutes came in at a good Second overall and first in our Category of Mixed Teams.
